Ljubljana, Wednesday, 16 August 2017 – The Management Board of the SIJ Group has named Branko Polanc as the Managing Director of SIJ Acroni. He will take up the position today. The interim Managing Director, Slavko Kanalec, is returning to SIJ d.d. Changes also occured at SIJ Elektrode Jesenice, where on 8 August Andrej Pogačnik, MBA took over the management function.
The new Managing Director of SIJ Acroni, Branko Polanc, is a mechanical engineer with a university degree who already has 15 years of service with the company. In the past few years, he has been the right-hand man to the management in the position of Production Manager, and is well acquainted with SIJ Acroni’s operations.
After his successful management of SIJ Acroni during the transitional period, the interim Managing Director of SIJ Acroni, Slavko Kanalec, is taking up the position of Director of Technology and will be responsible for strategic development of new technologies at the Group level.
The management of SIJ Elektrode Jesenice is being taken up by Andrej Pogačnik, the Managing Director of SIJ SUZ, who will now lead both SIJ Group companies in Jesenice. Andrej Pogačnik, MBA, has been an employee at the SIJ Group since 1992, and for the past 8 years he has held the position of Managing Director of SIJ SUZ.
The former Managing Director of SIJ Elektrode Jesenice, Blaž Jasnič has resigned for personal reasons and will continue his career outside the Group.
