NEW MEMBERS OF THE SUPERVISORY BOARD OF SIJ D.D.

Ljubljana, Monday 19 February 2018 – The 31st general assembly of the of SIJ d.d. ‒ Slovenian Steel Group saw the appointment of new members of the Supervisory Board, aimed at enhancing and reinforcing corporate governance.

Today at the 31st general assembly, shareholders appointed new members of the Supervisory Board of SIJ d.d. – Slovenian Steel Group. Boštjan Napast, Helena Ploj Lajovic, and Polona Marinko were appointed for a four-year term. Also, Evgeny Zverev and Dmitry Davydov were re-appointed as members of the Supervisory Board with a new, four-year term.

Sergey Frolov and Sergey Cherkaev, who served on the Supervisory Board until now, were recalled, while no changes were made to the terms of members Janko Jenko and Mitja Križaj on the seven-person Supervisory Board.

These changes represent the company’s direction towards  enhancing and reinforcing the standards of corporate governance at SIJ d.d. and the SIJ Group, where the attendance of all the shareholders at the assembly indicates that better and more successful corporate governance of SIJ d.d. and the SIJ Group is also supported by the shareholders.

More information about the new members of the Supervisory Board

Boštjan Napast holds a university degree in mechanical engineering. He served in various management positions at Petrol, d.d., where he was employed from 1998 to 2011. In 2005, he was appointed member of Petrol’s Management Board responsible for energy matters, and was later appointed adviser to the Management Board. He also served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Geoplin and Geoplin plinovodi between 2005 and 2009. He has headed Geoplin’s Management Board since September 2011. From October 2012 to March 2014 he was Chairman of Plinovodi’s Supervisory Board, since March 2014 he has been a member of Plinovodi’s Supervisory Board. Boštjan Napast is also the Chairman of the Management Board of Geoplin d.o.o. Ljubljana

Helena Ploj Lajovic holds a university degree in law. She has worked as a lawyer since 1999. She has gained experience as a court trainee in Ljubljana, in a law firm, in international sales, as a lecturer and certified auditor of management systems for Bureau Veritas, and as the head of a legal department in the private sector. Since 2007, she has been the head of the legal department at SIJ d.d. By cooperating in complex legal projects, which alongside in-depth knowledge of contract law include issuing commercial papers, takeovers and acquisitions of companies’ shares, she has gained a wealth of experience in the economy, managing legal procedures, and managing contractual relations between business entities.

Polona Marinko holds a university degree in law. She began her career in 2004 as a lawyer with the KD Group, transferring in 2006 to the Energoplan business group, where she worked as head of the legal department in the period before the first compulsory settlement. She has worked for the SIJ d.d. since 2012, where her responsibilities as corporate lawyer include managing the corporate affairs of the SIJ Group. Given her professional experience, she is well familiar with the operations of companies in groups, her main areas of expertise being commercial law, corporate governance, and managing companies’ changes of legal status.
